Abstract

The main subject of this thesis are mining subsidence reservoirs located in area of interest in Upper Silesia, where these objects occurred as result of undermining during the mining of black coal. The whole work can be divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part of this thesis are at first characterized the natural conditions of Upper Silesia. As a further is given description of the history of mining in the Upper Silesian coal basin and the impacts of these activities on the landscape. The following is the main part of this thesis, which deals with the origin, development, and especially the importance of mining subsidence reservoirs in mining landscape. The last in the theoretical part presents the results of previous surveys of flora and fauna occurrence made in mining landscape of Upper Silesia. In the practical part of this thesis is described the methodology of field research and interest localities and especially the own results, which are represented by registered and determined species of selected taxa of fauna and flora in individual localities.
