Zhotovení plastiky Prométhea dle vlastního návrhu inspirovaného českým kubismem

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to make a bronze casting of the original copyright draft sculpture of Prometheus, whose art style draws inspiration from the Czech cubist art, especially the work of Otto Gutfreund. The whole work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part of the thesis starts with the topic of Promethean myth and its symbolism used in art. The next section, it briefly handles cubism. Since its beginnings in the art of painting by Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque, through Cubist sculpture, to its form in the Czech lands. The last part in a nutshell describes the life and work of Otto Gutfreund. The practical part describes the individual steps of the manufacturing process, from the design drafting through manufacturing technology used to finishing. Due to the chosen technology of lost wax casting it focuses mainly on the issue of making wax models and plaster molds.
