Měšťanský dům č. 60, Modra, Slovensko

Abstract

The subject of the diploma project is the elaboration of a study of the reconstruction and extension of a burgher house together with the urban design of the adjacent part of the square. The solved object is located in Slovakia in the center of the historical center of the village Modra. It is a late renaissance two-storey burgher house oriented in a terraced development on the west side of Ľudovít Štúr Square. The house from the 17th century underwent various modifications in later historical stages, especially in the second half of the 20th century, when the façade was improperly modified. At present, the house serves as a multifunctional building with a ground-floor commercial parterre and rental apartments. In addition to the complete renovation of the house and facade according to the documents and opinions of the Bratislava Regional Monument Office, the intention is also to design a sensitive extension reflecting the current issues of the conflict of contemporary architecture in historic buildings.
