Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of non-lethal force tools used in crowd control. The theoretical part focuses on the legal framework governing the use of coercive means by the Police of the Czech Republic and on the characteristics of selected modern tools, including pepper spray, PepperBall systems, grenade launchers, rubber projectiles, LRAD acoustic devices, and water cannons. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the experimental verification of shooting accuracy of a PepperBall-type device at different distances. Based on the measured data, shooting accuracy, dispersion of impacts, and target hit success rate are evaluated. The results are further analyzed using statistical methods, specifically correlation analysis. The thesis also includes a risk analysis of individual non-lethal tools and their mutual comparison. Based on the findings, recommendations for their safe and effective use in practice are formulated.
