Abstract
This bachelor's thesis on "Implementing and Testing SDN within the Proxmox Virtualization Tool" consists of two main parts. The first part focuses on the theoretical description of software-defined networking, including VXLAN and EVPN technology. The advantages and disadvantages of individual technologies are explained and described here, including the differences compared to the traditional solutions. The second part deals with the practical part and includes the implementation itself and testing of SDN in the Proxmox Virtualization Tool environment.
The conclusion of the bachelor´s thesis is a fully functioning software-defined networking that contains two physical switches of different brands and two virtual OVS within the Proxmox VE environment. All these switches are controlled by the OpenFlow controller, which is installed as part of the virtualization.
