Abstract

The topic of this master’s thesis was strategic management in small and medium-sized enterprises with the focus on external environment and usage of specific methods and techniques of strategic management. For gathering information from enterprises a questionnaire was used, a questionnaire was distributed through business chamber of commerce in Moravian Silesian region. From the responses from enterprises who took part in the survey was found, that the strategic management tools are being used. The most common tools were financial analysis and price analysis. From the external environment the strongest effect were attributed to customers and competitors. The results show that the most used methods are not always the most proven tools.
