Abstract

FOUSEK, Michal. The Protection of the Population under the Hydraulic Structure of Šance. [Diploma thesis]. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering, 2016. 54p. The thesis is focused on information processing and subsequent mapping of the hydraulic structure Šance, which subsequently expands during the search ofmalfunctions causing the destruction of the dam and the subsequent cause of flooding in the area under the dam. Furthermore, this master thesis evaluates the impact of such a rare emergency in the affected area and expands further to describe a system of protection for the population should such extreme flooding occur. In the conclusion, through SWOT analysis it evaluates the floodplain below the hydraulic structure and proposes possible measures to improve the current situation in the field of civil population protection.
