Abstract

This paper simplify describes the remediation of the former Coke oven plant Karolina site. In the first part of the paper the studied locality is define, characterization of natural conditions and brief description of the historical development is described in this part. The historical development of the interest location shows the essence of the issue. Another section contains a detailed progress of the analysis of the risks arising from the nature of the pollution of the area and proposal of the possible solutions. Then is simply described the progress of the remediation, which is collectively contained the principle supporting remediation technology thermal desorption. Finally, it assessed the fulfillment of the projected goals of corrective measures. The conclusion summarizes the global importance of the project.
