Abstract

The primary aim of this bachelor thesis dealing with „Problems and Perspectives of the Use of Renewable Energy Resources in the Czech Republic“ is to assess the current development of use of renewable resources in Czech Republic based on particular analysis and to delimit key factors which are positively or negatively affecting or might affect its position in the long term time horizon. In the first instance, legislative framework for support of use of renewable energy resources in Czech Republic is characterized. This chapter refers to three major statutory provisions on energetics (Energy Act, Act on Energy Management and Act on Promotion of renewable resources) and briefly outlines content of Directive of European Parliament and Council 2009/28 ES about promoting the use of energy from renewable resources. The following chapter points to trends in use of renewable resources of energy in Czech Republic in recent years. Emphasis is placed on renewable resources which are most commonly used in Czech Republic such as energy of wind, water, sunlight, biomass and geothermal energy. Individual resources are characterized in terms of natural conditions of Czech Republic and their usability in recent years. Major advantages and disadvantages of particular renewable resources are covered as well. Available long-term potential of renewable resources is estimated, future vision concerning renewable resources is mentioned and analysis of individual factors influencing development of renewable resources is conducted in this paper.
