Abstract

In this dissertation the history of the Ostrava city district Poruba is discussed, which describes its origin, historical development and the present. The first chapter describes the general history of Poruba. This is followed by a detailed comparison of the past and the present. In the penultimate chapter the evolving nature of the environment, education and culture is reviewed. The last chapter focuses on the creation of a hiking route. This route is focused on the old part of the city district Poruba-village, where we can see the oldest monuments. The end of the route is associated with the visit of a recreational facility. The conclusion of this dissertation summarizes met objectives.
