Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the matter of under-frequency load shedding of the 22 kV distribution network, particularly targeting the distribution network HV 22KV provided by EG.D, a.s. In this thesis, I am characterizing the basic matter of frequency control of electricity interconnections. In addition to the theoretical basis, related matter in terms of foundational physical laws in farther analysed. The diploma thesis outlines the matters of primary, secondary, and tertiary regulation, and linked systemic and support services from the perspective of distribution network operators, with special coverage of Emergency load shedding product. I am evaluating the analysis of the known occurrences of decline in frequency in the ENTSO-E synchronous grid. The second half of the diploma thesis analyses the hypothesis of using long-range switchgear such as reclosers for improving the balance of under-frequency load shedding. The analysis works with actual data from the EG.D, a.s. corporation HV 22kV distribution network. All the simulation computations were conducted in the production version of the dispatch management control system. The analysed data were anonymised for the purpose of publication of the diploma thesis, and the complete analysis with the actual markings of the distribution network with the complete data of the dispatch control system was handed to the contracting authority. The process and subsequent output is described in detail in the body of the thesis. Part of the hypothesis regarding recloser usage for under-frequency load shedding is detailed familiarization with the devices from the technical point of view, related technical options, and potential configurations. An economical evaluation is conducted and a suggestion for the phasing of application of this solution is presented in the conclusion. The objective of this diploma thesis is to familiarize the reader with the context of the described matter in the field of electro-energetics. It provides the explanation of the foundational and subsequent principles of the frequency control and thus provides a comprehensive overview of the matter. The analysis of the recloser usage hypothesis is presented and the factual application is recommended.
