Abstract

This diploma thesis titled „Parametric study of pressure and sealing plug in deep repository for radioactive waste“ focuses on characteristics of the experimental pressure and sealing plug constructed as a part of the DOPAS project in Josef underground laboratory. Furthermore this thesis deals with personal proposals of form and material-based variations of the experimental pressure and sealing plug, numeric formation and suggested variations of the experimental pressure and sealing plug, gained results analysis and its comparison, potential recommendation for form and material – based optimalization and its future use in deep repositury. The aim of this thesis is to come up with different options for pressure and sealing plugs. These suggestions were created via MIDAS GTS NX program in 3D numeric models. Initial material and geometric parameters of pressure and sealing plugs were adopted from DOPAS project and its EPSP experiment. Lacking material and rock environs characteristics were drawn from expert literature and addend to pressure and sealing plug recommendations. The outcome of this thesis is assessment of pressure and sealing plugs suggestions and the disovery of the best option for deep repository for radiactive waste.
