Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the comparison of the stock markets in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Germany and Poland. The aim is to determine the stature and the development of the stock markets by the market capitalization, stock traded volume and turnover ratio and to appraise profitability and risk of the stock markets. The thesis is divided into five chapters including the introduction and the conclusion. The second chapter is focused on the characteristic of the financial and stock markets and on the description of the international criterion comparison. The countries are introduced in the third chapter from the point of view of their economic development and function of their stock markets. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the appraisal of the stock markets according to the development of the stock markets, profitability and risks. The overall results are appraised in the end of the fourth chapter.
