Abstract
This diploma thesis provides a comprehensive view on the practically unaddressed issue of quality control of the BIM model by the client. The client here primarily refers to public contractors at various levels of state administration or local government. Therefore, significant emphasis is placed on finding various alternatives and on open and transparent solutions that are also financially accessible. The theoretical part of the thesis first provides a general overview of current legislative developments in the field of BIM, highlighting the insufficient level of preparedness within the public sector for the mandatory implementation of BIM. This is evidenced, among other factors, by the inadequate quality control of received models in the framework of ongoing pilot projects. The thesis attempts to justify why the client should control the BIM model and then tries to categorically describe all areas that should be subject to various types of controls. The practical part deals with the design of suitable control methods in relation to different types of controls. These methods are then applied to the example of non-graphical information controls, carried out on sample BIM model from a real public transportation BIM project. The author's intention is to share practical experiences gained from controlling DiMS in a number of projects of various scales, in which he could participate as a BIM coordinator for the state company Správa železnic (Czech railway operator and provider.).
