Abstract
The study focuses on evaluation of training and staff development at the Town Hall in the city of Martin. Theory used in the study is based on information available from the literature and studies of various learning and development specialists, supplemented by data gained from an interview with organisation’s personnel manager, company documents and survey conducted among employees of the organisation via internet. It was found that organisation plan and design training and development activities flexibly, responding to changes in the work environment by providing irregular external trainings, however lack in reflecting employees personal educational needs. Employees of the organisation benefit from training they participated in, however they do not feel appropriately motivated towards further education. Though, due to the very small size of the sample as well as other limitations, the findings of this research should be taken carefully.
