Abstract

This thesis deals with Euro and Czech republic. The aim of this work is to describe the way of Czech republic to the euro, to analyze the expected impact of the euro on the Czech republic´s inflation, economic growth and also on the residents and compare position of the Czech Republic and Slovak republic to the single currency. The first chapter provides a historical development of monetary integration and the optimum currency areas theory. The second chapter focuses on the position of Czech Republic and Slovak Republic to the common currency. The third chapter focuses on the expected impact of the euro on the Czech republic´s inflation, economic growth and residents.
