Abstract

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to evaluate the air polution trend in Ostrava's municipal districts of Radvanice a Bartovice. In order to reach this goal Czech Hydrometeorological Institute data are used. The observed figure are the annual average values of PM10 between 2009 and 2011. Important part of this thesis is focused on air quality in the Czech Republic, more specifically its legal framework, largely the new air quality law Act No. 201/2012 edition. The thesis also contains categorization of air polluters and history of air pollution monitoring. This bachelor's work is addressing the impact of poor air quality in Ostrava per capita and the main source of air pollution in above mentioned area. The final journalistic part is primarily focused on the issue of Ostrava's air pollution in media. Various genres such as editorial, interview and questionnaire are presented too.
