This bachelor thesis deals with the determination of the shrinkage limit. Soil shrinkage is a process in which the soil reduces its volume due to water evaporation and can cause considerable problems for the subsoil structures in which these voluminous earths are found. These volumetric changes occur mainly in fine-grained, cohesive soils. In common practice, we determine five basic consistency states, at whose borders we define the so-called Atterberg limits. These limits also include the limit of shrinkage, which is the subject of this bachelor thesis. This thesis is divided into two levels: the theoretical and practical level, where the laboratory tests are evaluated, by which I have determined the basic parameters of the soil.
