Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the financial analysis of Skoda Vagonka Ltd. Company during the years 2005 – 2008. The goal of the thesis is to evaluate and analyze the economic situation of the company and come up with suggestions for improvement. The thesis is divided into two thematic parts. The first part describes the theory of financial analysis, basic concepts, definitions, methods and related calculations. The beginning of the second part describes the definite company. The second part also contains analysis of financial statements, analysis using proportional indexes, balance rules, Altman model and Kralicek Quick-test. The final part of the thesis includes an evaluation of the acquired results and recommendations for improvement.
