Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with fingerprint quality assessment. The aim of the thesis was to create an application that enables the evaluation of fingerprint quality using multiple metrics, specifically NFIQ 2.2, NFIQ 2.3, and a method based on Gabor filters. The solution includes a user interface that provides a clear presentation of results, graphical representation of fingerprint quality, and export of measured data. The application was tested on the NIST Special Database 4, which contains 4000 fingerprint images. The testing results showed a strong correlation between NFIQ 2.2 and NFIQ 2.3, although some fingerprints showed a significant difference between the two scores. GaborAFQA and NFIQ 2 showed a positive relationship, but with greater dispersion. The result of the thesis is a functional application that makes it possible to analyze data using different metrics within a single application.
