Abstract
The thesis concerns with absorption of carbon dioxide in packed absorption column. It´s focused on laboratory exercise design suitable for usage in process engineering laboratory course. In terms of thesis, operating calculation of counterflow absorber for CO2 absorption to water and 0,5 M NaOH solution for different packing was implemented. Calculation of pressure drop for gas flow through packing layer with various high (0,57 m and 0,77 m) was done.
In experimental part, the counterflow absorption of carbon dioxide to water in column with Rasching rings in a dependence on flow of gas and liquid was measured. Minimal solvent consumption and number of equilibrium trays was determined. Gas-liquid equilibrium CO2 - H2O was measured in absorption setting with liquid recycle. Experimental data was confronted with operating calculation and tabulated equilibrium data.
