Abstract
My thesis focuses on rolling of fragile alloys type aluminide of iron Fe 40 Al-Zr-B with the chemical composition (wt. %): Al 24.56 - 0.04 Cr-0, 01 B-0.18 Zr-0.01 C, 0.14 Mn 0.01 Mo (rest of Fe). Castings of a 19.35 mm thick had been rolled on a mill stand K350 into the configuration quarto with seven passes a nominal thickness of 5.81 mm. Diameter of the working rolls had been 64.5 mm. All samples had been packed into specially welded corrosion resistant ferritic protective capsules of the thickness 2 mm. These capsules had been protecting the samples of iron aluminide from contact with the cold rolls. This had prevented the formation of radical transverse cracks or fissures. This technology enabled the experiment to be carried out successfully, under laboratory conditions, with a less than 15 percentage removing of the total vertical deformation of 69 percent. The optimum heating temperature for the microstructure and formability technology was 1200 ° C.
