Abstract
The aim of this thesis is a description and a setting of electrical protection in Fifejdy 22 kV substation. This piece of work is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the introduction, definition of the term “protection” is explained and later this part states the most common “failures” that have a negative impact on the whole electrical system. “Failures” and “defaults” constitute a crucial section of this thesis because according to them the respective “protection” is applied. At the end of this chapter, there are descriptions of the basic types of “protection”. The next chapter introduces methodology of short-circuit conditions calculations according to ČSN EN 60909 which is necessary for settings of the “protection” in the later practical part. The third chapter is devoted to an evaluation of existing conditions in Fifejdy substation and of a construction of a new substation 110/22 kV. The fourth chapter introduces new techniques of the “protection” that will be employed in the substation and will replace the outdated models which served few previous decades and they are now considered unsuitable due to various criteria. The fifth chapter deals with calculations of short-circuit conditions on individual outlets of the substation 22 kV. The final section consists of a proposal itself and the setting of the “protections”.
