Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of intergenerational forgetting of extremist views associated with Bolshevism in the Czech lands. The aim of the study is to analyse how the perception and understanding of Bolshevism fades between generations and what influence social, historical and educational factors have on this process. The thesis presents a combined research approach, where quantitative data obtained from a questionnaire survey are complemented by qualitative analysis of various studies.
The method of hypotheses was used to address the issues, which were then assessed by the responses from the questionnaire survey. The age group examined was between 16 and 19 years of age, or the pre-election age.
Through the research conducted, I found that the pre-election age generation has an understanding of the causes and consequences of the rise of Bolshevism in the Czech lands and therefore will not have a distorted view of history.
The result, therefore, is that the generation in the pre-election years does not, or rarely, accept distorted information about the rise of Bolshevism in the Czech lands. Hence, they will not be blinded by kind, or distorted information, in their decisions.
