Cílem mé diplomové práce je zhodnotit vliv, který mají klastry na regionální rozvoj a konkurenceschopnost Baskicka.

Druhá kapitola, s názvem Úloha klastrů v regionálním rozvoji, je věnována teorii klastrů a klastrových iniciativ. Je zde popsána jejich definice, charakteristiky, možnosti rozdělení, ale hlavně role, kterou hrají v regionálním rozvoji. Závěrem je popsán evropský prostor klastrových aktivit.

Třetí kapitola této práce, nazvaná Konkurenceschopnost Baskicka, je zaměřená na představení Baskicka a jeho geografických, správních a ekonomických charakteristik. Následně se zaměřuji na vývoj regionálního rozvoje a na to, jak hodnotí současnou konkurenceschopnost regionu Baskický institut konkurenceschopnosti a EU.

Poslední kapitola, s názvem Přínosy klastrů v rozvoji Baskicka, se zabývá dvanáctkou baskických klastrů, které bývají nazývány „prioritními klastry“. Zaměřuji se na jejich stručnou charakteristiku a postavení v rámci regionální ekonomiky, zejména na jejich role zaměstnavatelů, exportérů a tvůrců technologického pokroku.

Clusters in the Regional Development of the Basque Country

The aim of my thesis is to evaluate the impact of Clusters on the Regional Development of the Basque Country.

The second chapter, called The role of Clusters in the Regional Development, is dedicated to Clusters and Cluster Initiatives theory. It describes their definition, characteristics and taxonomy, but mainly the role they play in the regional development in general. In the end the activities in European Cluster Space are explained.

The third chapter titled The Competitiveness of the Basque Country, is fully focused to the Basque Country and its geographic, administrative and economic characteristics. It results in the presentation of the regional development and the competitiveness of Basque Country and the evaluation of actual Basque Competitiveness, as it is analyzed by EU and the Basque Institute of Competitiveness.

The last chapter of the thesis analyses the contribution of clusters to regional development of the Basque Country. It presents the twelve important clusters known as “Priority Clusters and their position within the framework of Basque economy, with the emphasis on their role as considerable employer, exporter and promoter of technological progress.
