Study on the effects of heat flux levels on heat release rate of wood and times to ignition

Abstract

Combustible properties of materials, which are important from the view point of fi re fi ghting, are defi ned fi rst of all by changes in combustion enthalpy for specifi c heat conditions. Interactions between fl ame, fuel and the surroundings are illustrated by non-linear dependencies, due to which quantitative evaluation of processes that take place in fi res of buildings is very complicated.
