Charakteristika doprovodných křídových uloženin ve štramberském vápenci

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to describe a lithological construction of accessory Cretaceous sediments, such as identified in the Štramberk Limestone, as well as to broaden the former scope of knowledge regarding the different lithologic construction of the rocks. The thesis is based upon the field research and documentation, as well as a laboratory processing of samples taken from the 5. – 8. etage of the Kotouč Quarry. The samples were duly taken at the said locality, so as to be representative in a sufficient manner, and all samples were photo-documented. For the purposes of the samples’ correct assessment, the basic methods were applied, like macroscopic description of all taken samples, thin sections from selected samples together with X-ray diffraction analysis, assessment of foraminiferous occurrences in the claystones, and the palynological assessment. Such assessment of samples is to create a ground for further research focused on geological, as well as lithologic conditions such as existing in this limestone body.
