Abstract
Ph.D. thesis is engaged in geotechnical point of view of soft ground (weak rock) tunneling in urban environment. It deals with settlement trough theory, implementation and interpretation of the geotechnical monitoring and tools for the settlement trough prediction. There are summarized practical author's experiences from different sites in the Czech Republic (Brezno and Kralovopolsky Tunnels) and in Europe (Laliki Tunnel in Poland, Metro Lille and Toulon Tunnel in France).
