Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of remote communication with a spectrum analyzer ESPI 7 using the LAN network. The first option is operating the analyzer using a remote desktop. The second option then is to put into operation communication by using the free software that allows to make measurements directly on the screen of a computer or a notebook with the advantage of quick saving of measurement results in graphical or data form. The thesis first analyzes problems of the propagation of electromagnetic waves and their distribution. It also explains the principle of electromagnetic compatibility and basic standards. The following is the detailed description of the spectral analyzer ESPI 7 and attachments that were used in the measurement. The practical part then consists of optimization of configuration of the software for remote communication with the analyzer. The selected applications provided by the manufacturer of the analyzer were installed, put into operation, and tested on a laptop with the operating system Windows 7. Their descriptions, the details of individual measurements and suggestions of the laboratory tasks for students are presented here.
