Abstract
This thesis deals with the Efficiency and Accessibility the Long-Term Care Facilities in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to determine the evolution and level of Technical Efficiency and Institutional Availability of the Long-Term Care Facilities of counties in the Czech Republic for the period 2009 to 2013. And to achieve this aim was formulated hypothesis, which assumes that the Technical Efficiency of the Long-Term Care Facilities is more favorable in regions with higher population older than 65 years. DEA methods and comparative analysis were used. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was input oriented and included the following indicators - the number of beds and average length of treatment. Theoretical part is devoted to general knowledge related to the Health Care System, characteristics of the Long-Term Care Facilities and delimitation Efficiency and Availability. The analytical part is focused on evaluation of the Effectiveness and Availability the Long-Term Care Facilities using the DEA model. The thesis concluded that institutional Availability in all regions is very high and the degree of Technical Efficiency between regions is very different.
