Abstract
The thesis deals with the identification of pollution sources by analysis of
pollution monitoring on selected stations by receptor modeling. The theoretical part
focuses on the selection and characterization of receptor modeling techniques. The
experimental part of the application of PCA and PMF methods for air pollution
monitoring stations in Ostrava Bartovice and Marianske Hory. Five source factors
was found at Ostrava – Bartovice pollution monitoring: steel plant, metallurgical
sintering plant, ore processing, coking technology, road traffic and dust
resuspension as secondary pollution from road trafic. At Ostrava - Marianske Hory
four source factors were identified: steel plant, unspecified industrial source, loacal
heating and road transport. Results of receptor modeling were compared with the
available studies. The conclusion also presents recommendations concerning the
extension of air quality monitoring, which would facilitate interpretation of results
and identification of pollution sources in the methods used.
