Strategické plánování jako nástroj rozvoje území na příkladu Moravskoslezského kraje

Abstract

The importance of strategic planning is vital for the development of the competitiveness of territorial units. This has become more important with the accession of the Czech Republic to the European Union. This enabled regions to benefit from EU funds. The thesis aimed to identify, compare, and evaluate how the Moravian-Silesian Region ensures the coordination of strategic activities for its development through strategic management, focusing on strategic planning documents. For comparison, regional strategic documents were selected and subjected to a comparison of their content structure with the relevant methodologies of the Ministry for Regional Development (MMR) of the Czech Republic, designed to create strategic documents. The thesis further develops the themes of regional development theory, policy and competitiveness and the field of strategic management and planning.
