Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to create an algorithm in MATLAB for automatic segmentation of the retinal vascular system based on the method of maximum principal curvature and subsequent testing of all available datasets by this proposed algorithm. Therefore, the most important part of this work is design of the algorithm and its subsequent objective evaluation. The created algorithm was tested both on the dataset of images provided by Ophthalmologic clinic in Ostrava and on images from the publicly accessible DRIVE and STARE databases.
