Abstract

The purchasing process efficiency is significantly influenced by turbulent market environment, hyper-competition and, recently, by the world economic crisis as well. The supplier evaluation system represents an important factor. It is necessary to gather and evaluate data relevant to the fulfilment of the agreed parameters during the time the products are delivered or in periodic intervals. Periodic evaluation of the suppliers can provide a great benefit to the company in the long run. The Thesis is focused on the options of suppliers evaluation. Special attention is devoted to the methods of multi-criteria decision-making in processes dealing with the selection and evaluation of the suppliers.
