Assessment of the Financial Position of the Selected Company by the Financial Analysis Methods

Abstract

Amazon is an American electronic commerce and cloud computing company. Its business include online selling, book publishing and so on. After developing for more than 20 years, Amazon has become one of the biggest companies in electronic commerce. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the financial position of Amazon by using the selected financial analysis methods and the pyramidal decomposition of return on equity during fiscal 2011 to 2015. In the beginning of this paper, this paper was described generally and it tells the main content of this paper. Then, there are some financial concepts including financial analysis methods, financial statements and some financial indexes. All the introduction of financial analysis methods and financial indexes can help the analysis of financial condition of selected company. Later, general condition of Amazon was described. It tells the history and development of Amazon. This part provided basic information of Amazon and helped to analysis this company better. After that, there is the most important part of this paper and financial condition of Amazon was analyzed. Some important items in financial statements of Amazon during fiscal 2011 to 2015 are mentioned and help to make analyze. The methods used to analyze financial condition of Amazon including common-size analysis, financial ratio analysis and pyramidal analysis. Finally, the result of this paper is placed at the end of this paper. It tells result of analysis.
