Abstract

This thesis describes the occurrence, causes, consequences and possible solutions of the global food problem. At present, the global food problem takes two forms. While in developed countries residents suffer from obesity and overweight, in the developing countries, the residents have to deal with malnutrition and hunger. The work is focused on less developed countries, where livelihood means daily worries for residents who are often in danger of life as a result of food insufficiency. The aim is to define the issue of global food problem, describe the initiatives of the international community in this area and to evaluate the food situation in several regions of the world.
