Abstract

It is very difficult to survive in a world market in the era of globalization for manufacturing companies and service companies. If they want to be effective, they have to find a way to ensure their competitive advantage. This advantage may become implementation of a lean production. This thesis describes briefly the principles of lean production and focuses on methods of 5S and muda. There are mentioned views of the author on the issue of lean production in conclusion of this thesis.
