Ostrava: VSB - Technical University of Ostrava , Faculty of Civil Engineering , Department of Architecture , 2014 , Supervisor: Kiszka , J The diploma thesis about the study of the development and state of the cultural landscape and the countryside of the Turiec region. At the beginning the thesis is concerned in comparison of the past and the present of the country, and it tries to evaluate the problems of the current rural area. Then it continues with the analysis of historical context, with selecting of concrete representative of the region – Blatnica. It tries to point out problems and evaluate the needs for stabilization and sustainability of the countryside. At the end, the thesis is trying to name concrete problems of suburbanism and in the practical part it offers results that lies in support of the centre of the village with the usage of the its historical and cultural potential and by consolidation of community, suggesting of the discussion house and the art school.
