Abstract

The paper describes the basic features of mortgages, their different types and calculation, fixing of interest rate and mortguge securities. All this theoretical information is complemented by practical knowledge won from experience in mortgage extensions by Česká spořitelna, a.s. The term „American mortgage" is also described in the paper. The final part of the presented article is dedicated to Česká spořitelna, a.s. itself and its success in the area of mortgages
