Abstract

This work deals smart grid and smart metering in power grids. The first part of the thesis is focused on current state of power grid in Czech republic, including an explanation of the renewable energy sources and description of centralized ripple control. In the second part of the thesis are described smart grid concept with comparison between traditional power grid including the benefits, which could be achieved. The following chapter is devoted to smart metering and technologies for the purpose to transfer measured data. The final chapter is focused on pilot projects and state of implementation smart metering and AMM technology.
