Abstract
This diploma thesis focuses on the issue of wastewater treatment using plant-root water treatment plants in the South Bohemian, South Moravian, Moravian-Silesian and Liberec regions. The theoretical part summarizes four basic methods of wastewater treatment and describes the mechanism of operation of plant-root wastewater treatment plants, including the natural methods of treatment of polluted surface and wastewater using wetland vegetation. The aim of the thesis is to describe in detail the individual indicators of pollution and to map the strengths and weaknesses of the twelve plant-root wastewater treatment plants from the four abovementioned regions. The method of questionnaire survey is used to achieve the stipulated goal of the thesis. Respondents comprise of competent persons from each region who are responsible for the proper functioning of the selected plant-root wastewater treatment plants. In the South Moravian Region, P-RWWTPs in Dražovice and Biskoupky were selected. In the South Bohemian Region, five P-RWWTPs were selected in the municipalities of Břehov, Roseč, Předotice, Vimperk I and Slavošovice. In the Moravian-Silesian Region, three plant-root treatment plants from Kojkovice, Prostřední Dvůr and Štáblovice were selected, and in the Liberec Region the plant-root treatment plants in Líšný and Zásada towns were mapped.
