Aplikace polymerových elektrod

Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the development of textile polymer electrodes intended for non-invasive 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) recording. Conductive layers were prepared using polyaniline and polypyrrole, with impedance measurements confirming suitable properties only for polypyrrole-based layers. A chest strap was designed and manufactured, incorporating electrodes and signal transmission via a carbon fiber cable, minimizing the use of metallic components up to the point of connection with the connector. Testing revealed a limited ability of the polymer electrodes to capture a complete ECG signal; however, the application of a copper electrode on the polymer surface allowed the detection of R-waves. The thesis also includes a comparison between the self-made polymer electrodes and externally manufactured ones.
