Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with acoustic parameters of beacon lights of Police of the Czech Republic. The basic patterns of sound and sound propagation in the environment are included. It describes the general functions of hearing organ and the effect of noise on humans. Legislative requirements for measurement and evaluation of acoustic parameters of the Police beacons are mentioned as well. Measurements and evaluation of the acoustic parameters of beacon lights of the Police of the Czech Republic form part of this work. The warning signals used are described together with a suggested choice of the warning signal. The result is an assessment of the results obtained in real operating police vehicles. In conclusion the final summary is elaborated, together with relevant recommendations.
