Abstract

This diploma thesis deals comprehensively with the analysis of noise emissions from high voltage (110 kV) overhead lines and the design of technical measures for their reduction. In the practical part, noise measurements were carried out along with frequency and amplitude analysis of the acoustic signal in the locality of Horní Suchá. The aim was to identify potential causes of noise generation in this locality. A transformer was identified as a likely source of the dominant noise. Its noise emissions are probably related to the influence of higher harmonic currents generated in a nearby traction station. Other potential sources of disturbance include Aeolian vibrations of the conductors, while corona discharge also occurs on these lines. While the measured data indicated the presence of Aeolian vibrations, the typical noise emissions of corona discharge were not confirmed in this locality. The design section presents a comprehensive set of measures, including the installation of passive filter-compensation devices and STATCOM technology to mitigate the adverse effects of the traction system, as well as the application of both broadband and narrowband mechanical dampers and the use of modern hydrophilic conductor coatings. The implementation of these specific steps can provide an effective solution for the long-term reduction of noise pollution in the vicinity of high voltage overhead lines.
