Abstract

Bc. MINSTEROVÁ, Z.: Gap-site development on Masarykova Street in Valašské Meziříčí - Multifunctional building: Diploma thesis. Ostrava: VŠB- Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Department of Architecture, 2019, Supervised by: Ing. arch. TREFIL, Z. This diploma thesis deals with an analysis of the postsocialist development and fragmentation of Valašské Meziříčí with the subsequent search and selection of the strategically suitable approach for densification and consolidation of the city structure. The main goal of the thesis is the urban and architectural solution of the blank space and its close surroundings on Masarykova Street in Valašské Meziříčí. The intention of the project is rediscovery identity of city center of Krásno nad Bečvou and promotion of its understanding, as a local area of Valašské Meziříčí, whose center, identity and overall appearance have been severely trampled in recent years. When creating the project, it was necessary to find a new functional content that would respond to the current needs of the city and take into account the potential and negative aspects arising from an adjacent thoroughfare and the proximity of the historic center of Valašské Meziříčí.
