Abstract The impact of economic crisis on the position of immigrants in Ireland Bc. Ivona Škrachová The aim of the Thesis entitled The impact of economic crisis on the position of immigrants in Ireland is to assess the impact of the economic crisis on the situation of immigrants in the Irish labour market. The Thesis is divided into four chapters. The first chapter contains a definition of basic terms relating to migration and labor market and the basic theoretical approaches to migration. The second chapter contains a general characteristic of Ireland, a description of the Irish economy, labour market and foreign trade. The second half of this chapter is description of the development of immigration in Ireland. The third chapter presents data on the effect of the crisis in Ireland. The main section contains an analysis of the impact of the crisis on migration flows and on the overall immigrant population in Ireland and analysis of the impact of the crisis on the labor market and immigrants. The conclusion summarizes the effect of the economic crisis on the situation of migrants in the Irish labour market.
