Měření přenosových parametrů v komunikačních sítích pomocí přístroje Spirent TestCenter C1

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the measurement of transmission parameters in communication networks using the Spirent TestCenter C1 traffic generator and analyzer. The theoretical part of the thesis defines transmission parameters such as delay, jitter, packet loss, and throughput, and subsequently describes selected protocols operating on layers 2 through 4 of the OSI reference model, specifically MPLS, IPv4, IPv6, UDP, and TCP. The practical section contains a detailed description of the measurement conditions and the results of individual measurements, the aim of which was to verify the ability of the Spirent TestCenter C1 to generate and analyze various types of network traffic. Another part of the thesis compares the Spirent TestCenter C1 with the iPerf3 tool and the FETest ParaScope GigE device. The appendix section of the thesis contains detailed instructions for working with the Spirent TestCenter C1.
