This thesis focuses volunteer work and communication with the volunteers. The first part of rhesis defines temr „volunteer“ from the different perspectives, describes the volunteer activities and it´s motivation. In the second part of thesis, there are treated the theoretical bases of communication and functions of communication. The thesis also describes selected communication medias and through graphs defines, groups in which age most often consume the media. Finally, the work applies the findings to practical situations and makes conclusions, how to use media most effectively and also which media use to communicate with specific groups of volunteers in the case of emergency.
