Abstract

Silicon metal is an important part of human life and has accompanied us for a very long time. Thanks to its characteristics, which suit us to the maximum, its role is currently irreplaceable. Despite this fact, it is necessary for us as a humanity to find a replacement for it, in the relatively near future, because our demands and needs are increasing and we are trying to make our, already very complicated, life at least to some extent easier. Silicon metal has many uses, but although it is the second most abundant element on Earth, its availability is becoming problematic and complicated, especially recently. Substitutes have already been discovered, they are much better in quality, not so much in price. In terms of research into its dependence of price, production and demand on various variables, this proved to be moderate in all but one case, namely the dependence of price on time.
