Abstract

This thesis focuses on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the tool steel Dievar produced by additive manufacturing using the laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF) method. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of steels, their heat treatment, and the principles and industrial applications of the PBF method. The experimental section includes the printing of Dievar steel specimens, their subsequent heat treatment (including Hot Isostatic Pressing – HIP), and characterization of the resulting mechanical properties. Special attention is given to the evaluation of microstructure, hardness, tensile strength, and impact toughness under different processing conditions. The obtained results are compared with reference values defined in the NADCA 207-2022 standard.
